Sophia Loizou is an artist and researcher working with new technologies in sound, moving image and performance. Her practice uses speculative storytelling to explore relationships between ecology, technology, and cultural memory.

Tracing how sound moves through bodies, environments and global infrastructures, she brings sonic histories and geospatial archives into relation with environmental forces.

These concerns extend across her electronic music releases (Houndstooth, Cosmo Rhythmatic, Astro:Dynamics), her eco-sonic fiction (Fabric Publishing), and research into electronic music and social justice (AHRC, HLF).

She is currently a resident on Rinse.fm and is completing her doctoral thesis at Goldsmiths, University of London.
